Bye Bye Liver, the Twin Cities’ Drinking Play, a high octane comedy adventure centered around one of the Twin Cities’ favorite past times - drinking. With outrageous sketch comedies mixing drinks, interactive drinking games and male versus female inebriation, Bye Bye Liver is a play premised on the simple joys and complex consequences that indulging in a drink or two or three can bring.
The Bye Bye Liver casting calls on comedy stalwarts who are involved at such local enterprises as the Actor’s Theatre of Minnesota, Brave New Workshop Theatre, Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, Stages Theatre Company and the Fringe Festival, among others. Cast members include Laura Mahler, Adam Qualls, Mike Rylander, Alyssa Szarkowski and Michael Venske with direction by John Haynes, director of the Creative Institute at Actor’s Theater. Bye Bye Liver also runs in two other locales.
In the Windy City it is known as the Chicago Drinking Play and has been selling out performances at The Pub Theatre. In Wisconsin, it is popularly known as the Milwaukee Drinking Play. The hour and 15-minute show premiered in Nashville and was originally created by producer, writer and director Byron Hatfield.
